GRID CONNECTED ROOFTOP SOLAR POWER PROJECT FOR GOVERNMENT/ PSU's
India possesses immense solar energy potential that needs to be fully harnessed for reducing dependence on fossil fuels,
mitigating environmental pollution, and enhancing energy security. In line with its commitments towards clean energy transition
and climate change mitigation, the Government of India has set an ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based
installed electricity capacity by 2030, with solar energy playing a pivotal role. Rooftop Solar (RTS) projects form an important
component of this strategy due to their ability to utilize existing rooftop spaces without requiring additional land acquisition
or dedicated transmission infrastructure.
To accelerate the deployment of rooftop solar systems across the country, the Government of India, through the
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), has been promoting solarisation of Government buildings,
Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), educational institutions, healthcare facilities and residential sectors
under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
To facilitate effective implementation of Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Projects on Government buildings,
MNRE has empanelled Scheme Implementation Partner (SIP) for conducting site assessments, identifying solar potential,
preparing feasibility reports, Bid management and providing end-to-end project management support.
Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited (REIL) is one of the Scheme Implementation Partner (SIP) of MNRE under the
PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY) vide MNRE Office Memorandum No. 318/17/2024-GCRT Part (2) dated 11.06.2026.
REIL has successfully implemented more than 77 MWp of Grid Connected Solar Power Projects under CAPEX and RESCO models.
At present, Letter of Award (LOAs) have been issued under NIT No. REIL/NIT/PMC/2025-26/001 dated 17.10.2025 and
NIT No. REIL/NIT/PMC/2025-26/002 dated 27.01.2026 for implementation of Grid Connected Rooftop and
Small Solar Power Plants Programme on Government buildings pertaining to various Ministries across the
following 15 States/UTs.
